Casey’s General Store closes due to the NFL’s playoff push

Casey’s Jewelers is closing its store in Miami-Dade County due to its involvement in the NFL playoff push.

According to the Miami Herald, the store will close tomorrow, October 12, 2018, to “provide a safe environment for employees and guests to shop, conduct business, and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.”

The closure is effective today, October 13, 2018.

Casey’s has also confirmed that the store’s “cabinets” will remain open.

“We are committed to supporting the Miami Dolphins as they move toward a new era and to the Super Bowl.

We appreciate the support and prayers from the Casey’s community and wish them a happy holiday season,” the company said in a statement.

“Casey’s Jeweler is saddened to announce that its Miami-dade-area store is closing due to our involvement in last week’s playoff game.

We are thankful for the support of our community and friends during this difficult time.

The staff and associates are doing their best to reopen as soon as possible.

We thank you for your continued support.”

Casey’s announced the closure on Monday, October 15, 2018 as part of a deal with the NFL to keep the Dolphins on the field through the end of the season.

The move was not announced on Twitter or Facebook, though a tweet by the store said “We will continue to operate as normal as long as we are on the same schedule.”
